Installation started the first weekend of November. Each phase of the
project was completed in small steps to help eliminate the stress of doing the
entire project in a single weekend or in a straight shot.
This is a picture of the inside of one of the major components of the system.
Mega Tree: Mounted to a pole which has been installed 16" deep in the
ground with the top just below the dirt line. A counter load cable is installed
from the house to the pole, to transfer the load of the falling star from the
pole to the house.

To keep the pole center and from falling over, guy wires are
installed on each side of the pole using 16' screw anchors capable of supporting
of 450 pounds each.
The base ring is installed, which is made of PVC and electrical conduit, and
then 96 strings of lights are installed around the ring. (24 White, 24 Red, 24
Blue, and 24 Green)
Parkway Tree:
Really, there is no fancy tricks to the parkway tree. You just get on a
ladder, get in the tree and start
wrapping over 150 stands on lights to the tree. One at a time. There
are 15,000 lights in the Parkway Tree. Voltage is supplied by wiring
installed going over head.
Lights are installed with one light bulb spacing, first green then blue (This
is the make removal easier). Since there are so many lights on the tree, Blue
and Green lights are supplied by two different sources.
